  Many thanks, this happen to me after installing Photoshop CS3, word would only start in safe mode. This has fixed it

  Your extremely welcome! This issue can become very frustrating if
  uneducated ok how to resolve it.
  
  Funny, until I experienced this-inwant aware MS Word could enter a
  "Safe Mode" stage.
