WebDazzling: How to Make Yourself a Brand

  • Ricardo Bueno · 11 months ago
I think that if you can secure your domain name, you should. Then, when you're out creating profiles across various networks, make sure to keep the username's all consistent; it's troublesome to keep up with it all otherwise. For the most part, my username is "Ricardo Bueno" but every now and then I alternate between "Ribeezie."

    Ribeezie,

You brought up another great point that jogged my memory which I didn't post
about. Along with securing your own domain name - comes the privilege of
being able to use an e-mail address with your name as well. This is
wonderful for job searching, or for client/employment association.

For memory sake, I always try to use the same username as well. Excellent
    point, and thanks for sharing!

Happy Holiday to you also, friend. :)

    Good points to discuss!
I was using avatar logo for almost 2 years, as I begin to notice that somehow some social media on internet would need more personal profile than just a logo :)
Perfect start to network if people can see the real "YOU", and thanks for sharing your thoughts in this kewl post Chris :)

I just love your logo. It is creative and not just a bunch of text put together. Very creative.

Equally so, I admire your work as well. Thank you for taking time to stop by and letting others understand where the social media is moving towards.

Look forward to more of your Tuts!

Great points. I'm very glad that I reserved my name/domain name a few years ago. There is an established scottish singer that has my same name. It takes a lot of work for my site and my other pages to rise against the singer's Amazon, Napster and YouTube listings.
I've also used http://usernamecheck.com/ to make sure that I registered my username all over the place.

I still am very angry with myself for not purchasing my ChrisHebert.com when I could have. I missed it by "that much." (Get Smart Joke).

I will have to look into the http://usernamecheck.com site. I was not aware of it prior to your post. That is what I love about this site, it is a great place for everyone to share information and help others benefit from each others knowledge.

I took a peek at your site too jimmacleod.com and I adore your site. Very unique from other sites. Bright colors and complex, yet perfect placement of your examples of work.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing your information with us. Hope to see you around here more often. ;)
