Angie, Thank you for stopping my and giving us feedback on backing our databases. I am the first to admit, it is something I have to force myself to do (and dislike having to make the time for it also).

Great suggestion to export the site to XML, I learned the hard way a few months ago that just because the screen *says* the database is backed-up, does not me the file it created is any good. I lost EVERYTHING because I had not been using the export feature. Now as soon as I click "post", it's quickly followed by "export".

Thank you for your comment. As a certified computer tech, I can honestly say I understand how important it is to have more than one method to backup something.
I myself, in prior days accidently uploaded an index.htlm file into the wrong site. Fortunately, I had multiple backups which allowed for a quick fix & no one was the wiser (so don't tell anyone). Point is, backingup in the long run, is shorter - time wise - than loosing everything and recreating the wheel (if it can be recreated).
Hacking is a serious problem, and unfortunately, it has begun over at twitter. There are great ways to protect yourself, which you have mentioned here, but it seems as if these hackers are always one step ahead. Hopefully, twitter has come up with some better ways to stop this from happening agai.

As with anything good, someone has to try and damage it. Sad for those who have had their Twitter account compromised too. I am unsure, as of today, how many Twitter users have been locked out of their accounts, and how many have regained access to their accounts.
Another great point I just thought of, was the "backing-up of Twitter." In the event our Twitter account is hijacked or the Twitter fairies loose our information again (back in July '08), it is a good plan of action to have a Twitter backup.

Thanks for the Litmus pointer. We use some of the W3C tools already, but it's extremely time consuming to use different browsers and test everything. Litmus seems to take a lot of those manual step out of the equation. Time saver! Dylan
